Got a callfrom an AI?
Ringdone lets people hand an everyday phone call to an AI assistant, Dito: booking a table, ordering a takeaway, asking for a quote. If an AI assistant rang you for someone and the number led you here, this is what that call was, and how to stop it.
What the call was
Someone using Ringdone asked Dito to call you about one thing: a booking, an order, a price or a question. They typed the request themselves, and the call was made for them.
Dito says what it is at the start of the call: “Hi, Sam's AI assistant here”, with that person's name. It isn't a recording or a sales call, and nobody is pretending to be a person.
Stop calls to your number
There are four ways. Whichever you use, your number goes on our do-not-call list, and nobody using Ringdone can call it again.
- Say so on the call (“Please don't call us again”). We add the number when the call ends.
- Ring back the number that called you and press 9.
- Use the form on this page.
- Email hello@ringdone.com.
What the AI assistant will do
- Ask for the one thing it was asked to sort out, in plain words.
- Give the details the customer allowed, like a name for a booking, and only when you ask for them.
- Take no for an answer, say thanks and end the call.
- Pass on exactly what you said, so the customer knows what was agreed.
What it won't do
- Pretend to be a person, or to be the customer.
- Take or give card or bank details. If something needs paying, it asks how and tells the customer.
- Sell you anything or make marketing calls.
- Keep ringing you. We limit how often any number can be called, and we never call a number on our do-not-call list.
Calls are transcribed
The conversation is transcribed so the customer can read what was agreed. They see the transcript and a short summary. We keep it to run the service, and never sell it or use it for marketing.
