Terms of service
Last updated 3 October 2026
These are the terms for using Ringdone (“the service”, “we”). By creating an account you agree to them. They’re written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email hello@ringdone.com.
1. What the service is
You describe a task and pick a business; an AI voice agent phones them on a real phone line, handles the conversation, and reports back with a live transcript and a summary. You can place calls immediately, schedule them for later, or run a small campaign of enquiry calls to compare quotes.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or over and give accurate account details.
- You’re responsible for what’s done from your account. Keep your sign-in to yourself.
3. Pricing, credits and refunds
- Calls beyond your free calls (below) are paid from a prepaid credit balance, priced in GBP at £0.99 per connected call. Credit packs may include bonus calls.
- When a call starts we place a hold for one call’s credit. If the call doesn’t connect (no answer, busy, failed), the hold is refunded in full. You only pay for calls that connect. A call that only reaches voicemail, an automated menu or a “we’re closed” recording isn’t charged either.
- Cancelling a scheduled call before it dials refunds its hold.
- Credits don’t expire.
- Credits aren’t cash and don’t earn interest, but they’re not a trap either: email us and we’ll refund your unused credit to your original payment method. Refunds are of what you actually paid: unused calls are refunded pro rata to what you paid for the pack, and free or bonus calls aren’t refundable. Statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
- Prices may change; your existing credit keeps its call value.
- Your 14-day right to cancel.UK law gives you 14 days from buying credit to change your mind. When you buy credit you ask us to make it available straight away, so you can place calls within those 14 days. If you cancel within 14 days we refund what you paid for the credit you haven’t used (pro rata, as above); calls already made are not refundable, because the service was provided at your request. To cancel, email us.
Free calls
- Accounts with a verified UK mobile number get 3 free calls every calendar month. Months run by UTC (UK time in winter; an hour behind it in summer), so the allowance resets at 00:00 UTC on the 1st.
- You verify a number by entering a code we text to it. One account per phone number: a number can only be verified on one account at a time. Changing your number doesn’t reset or add to the month’s free calls.
- Free calls are used before your credit, for calls you place in the app (not campaigns or the developer API). A free call that isn’t answered (no answer, busy, failed or cancelled before it rings) doesn’t use your allowance, for up to 6 unanswered free calls a month. You can place up to 40 calls a day from the app.
- Unused free calls don’t roll over to the next month, and they have no cash value: they can’t be refunded, sold or swapped for credit.
- The free tier is a goodwill offer. We may change or end it with reasonable notice, and we may withdraw it from accounts that abuse it (for example, several accounts run by one person, or numbers that aren’t yours).
4. Acceptable use
The service exists to handle everyday calls to businesses. You must not use it to:
- Call emergency services (999, 112, 111 or any emergency or crisis line). The service cannot make emergency calls.
- Harass, threaten, deceive or repeatedly disturb anyone, or call individuals who don’t expect the call (see “Calling relatives and friends” below).
- Impersonate a specific real person, or instruct the agent to deny being a virtual assistant when asked.
- Send marketing, robocalls or any bulk unsolicited calling. This is a personal assistant, not a dialler.
- Do anything unlawful, fraudulent, or intended to obtain goods or services by deception.
We can refuse, end or refund calls and suspend accounts that break these rules. Where the law requires it, we may report misuse.
Calling relatives and friends
The service is mostly for businesses, but you may also use it to ring a relative, a friend or another individual. That is an official use of the service, on these conditions:
- The person expects the call. You have told them that Dito, Ringdone’s AI assistant, may ring them on your behalf.
- You confirm it before the call is placed. In the app that is the box saying the person knows Dito may call them; through the developer API it is
recipient_expects_call. We keep a record on the call that you confirmed it. The app asks for this when the request is about a relative or friend, or when the number is a mobile and no business is named. - Never use it to call someone who doesn’t expect it or who has asked not to be called, to pressure, frighten or trick anyone, or to get round a block. If anyone asks the agent not to call again, we add their number to our do-not-call list straight away.
Confirming something untrue, or any other misuse of these calls, is a breach of these terms: we may end the call, stop the number being called, and suspend or close your account.
Closed beta
If you are in the closed beta you agree to the short guidelines shown before your first call (real tasks only; don’t book what you won’t turn up to; be kind to the people we call) and you understand that, during the beta, our team reviews calls for quality (see the privacy policy). We may suspend beta access if the guidelines aren’t followed.
5. AI on the line: the honest bit
- The agent is an AI. It’s good, but it can mishear, misstate or misunderstand. Check the transcript before relying on anything important: the transcript is the record of what was actually agreed.
- Any booking, order or purchase the agent arranges is a deal between you and that business. We’re the messenger, not a party to it, and we don’t guarantee the business will honour what was said.
- Campaign (quote-comparison) calls are enquiry-only by design: the agent gathers prices and availability and never commits you to anything.
- Don’t use the agent to obtain professional advice (legal, medical, financial) by phone; it isn’t qualified to relay it reliably.
6. Your content
Your tasks, phonebook and transcripts are yours. You give us the licence we need to store and process them to run the service (described in the privacy policy) and nothing more.
If you share a call’s result, anyone with the link can see that card: the outcome and the key facts, and the business’s name if you leave it on. Never your number, your name or the transcript. You can stop sharing at any time, and the link stops working.
7. Availability
This is a young product. We aim for it to work brilliantly all the time, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted availability, and phone networks and the businesses we call are outside our control. If a fault on our side charges you for a call that didn’t happen, tell us and we’ll refund it.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t legally be excluded (like death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Beyond that, our total liability to you is capped at the amounts you’ve paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we’re not liable for indirect losses or for the acts of the businesses you ask us to call.
9. Ending things
You can close your account any time; we’ll refund unused credit as in section 3. We can suspend or close accounts for breach of these terms, with a refund of unused credit unless the breach involved fraud or abuse.
10. Changes and law
If we make a material change to these terms we’ll flag it on this page and update the date above; continuing to use the service means you accept the change. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also use your local courts).
